Repair or sell - how to decide for your own vehicle
The useful question is not whether selling always beats repairing. It does not. The question is which way your particular vehicle falls, and you can work that out before you call.
Ask what is still recoverable. An intact car is worth more than a stripped one of the same model, and a damaged vehicle that still holds its parts holds more value than one that does not.
Ask what the repair restores. If the repair returns the vehicle to use for you, that is a different outcome from a repair that only makes it saleable.
Ask what is fixed regardless of the answer. Proof of ownership is required on every purchase, and an active lien must be cleared first, whether you repair the vehicle or sell it.
